Christ Church Primary School
Our school is based in the historic town of Hastings & St Leonards. The original school was built on the site of Christ Church in London Road, St Leonards. In 1989 the school moved to its new premises in Woodland Vale Road. The school has a strong link with Christ Church and its parish priest Father Roger.

THE AIMS OF THE SCHOOL
Our aim is to combine hight standards with a broad and rich curriculum; to take ownership of the curriculum and make it our own; to be creative and innovative in how we teach and run the school to help every child develop his or her full potential. We follow the guidelines as laid down in the DfES documents ‘Excellence and Enjoyment - a strategy for primary schools (published 2004) and ‘Every Child Matters’ (published 2004).

School Uniform
As part of our school policy and ethos, every child should wear the school uniform and P.E. and games kit. In coming to this school, it is automatically expected that parents will adhere to this policy. We reserve the right to forbid items of clothing, accessories and footwear that we deem to be dangerous in school to the individual or others. Under no circumstances are items of jewellery including bracelets, rings or earrings to be worn. Small studs only will be accepted. Watches are not encouraged as they can be lost, and each room has a clock.
School colours are red and grey. Sweat shirts and t-shirts with the school logo can be purchased in school from the school’s parents’ association (BALSA). See school office for opening hours. School clothes without the school logo which are sold in high street stores are acceptable, provided they are in the school colours.

All Saints C of E Junior school
All Saints School dates back to the year 1835, when it opened in All Saints’ Street as the ‘Hastings Parochial School’. The site was donated for the purpose by Mrs. Sarah Milward (later Countess Waldegrave). She had strict views about how the school should be run, and insisted that the boys and girls be taught separately, and must enter through separate entrances (a theme that was obviously echoed at other schools in the town, as can be seen by the front entrances of our existing building!
